La Escuela de Negocios de la Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez invita al Seminario de Investigación donde expondrá el profesor Ramiro Montealegre, de Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado at Boulder.
“In this seminar, ideas about conducting case study research will be explored. The presentation will be centered on a research project in the area of the managerial ability to simultaneously balance exploration and exploitation to attend contradictory tensions during digital infrastructure evolution. Based on prior research on digital infrastructures and organizational ambidexterity, the questions guiding the investigation were: (1) How do organizations experience and resolve contradictory tensions throughout the evolution of digital infrastructure? and (2) What can we learn about the organizational capabilities that drive strategic actions in resolving these contradictory tensions? My co-authors and I approached these questions using an in-depth case study at RE/MAX LLC, a global real estate franchise. The study yielded qualitative data to propose a process model of digital infrastructure evolution ambidexterity, highlighting management strategies to deal with contradictory tensions in the form of 3-pairs of capabilities (identifying-germinating, expanding-legitimizing, and augmenting-implanting) and two supporting factors (leadership and structure). Implications of case study research will be discussed.”
