After more than a century and a half of industrialization, deforestation and large-scale agriculture, the amounts of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere have reached levels never before seen in three million years. This concentration of GHGs - directly related to the global average temperature of the Earth - drastically changes the climate and, with it, the conditions under which it may support life. UAI researchers have joined in studying the scope and repercussions of this global crisis.
